That is correct. That package on the SSPs also included a similar double pin stripe in the concave area around the wheel openings. Just a simple up, over, and back down pinstripe. On full vinyl top cars, the roof and quarter stripe was obviously deleted, but you still got the wheel opening stripes.

Okay my tag reads V6F. And I thought that is what V6F was. But I wanted to make sure that was not the code for the canopy vinyl top. What is the code for the canopy (or 1/2) vinyl top??

"Santa is going shopping" Spoke to Dante and went over all of the components for my car and he was very helpfull, he even had the flame thrower tips...my only concern is if the Rear bumper & Valance Pan Blackouts were an option on the 71 GTX, Dante said it was an option and I've seen a couple of them on the net, if you guys can help me verify this it will be of great help....That way Santa Steve can go shopping...Thanks for your help. :D

V4_ was the canopy vinyl top, V1_ would designate a full vinyl. V6F would be a green stripe...interesting, a green car with a green stripe and green interior...that's a LOT of green!

M75 designated the rear bumper tape treatment. This code does not show on the fender tag for road runners (part of the A87 package). It is shown in the salesmans guide as available on the GTX as an option at extra cost. These are the only two models it lists as available for. I belive on a GTX it would also not show on the fender tag, only the broadcast sheet.

I would agree with that. Both of my (unrestored) SSP's have the chrome tail light trim.

This is interesting, I SWEAR the elastomeric bumper SSP 383 car that was in my hometown had the blackout stripes on the rear bumper. May be my feeble memory, but that's how I remember the car--having black on the rear bumper. Man how I wish I could find that car again!
