1972 Road Runner bumper question

Post by wejewill » Sun Jan 19, 2014 12:10 pm

Hello,
I have been doing my research for my 72 RR over the years and after looking at cars for sale as well as car shows over the years and I have a growing suspicion that I do not have the correct rear bumper on my car? My 72 RR came with a solid rear bumper without the rubber trim pieces that outline the rear taillights. Many of the 72 RR I see have that specific trim/bumperette setup attached. Is the rubber trim piece specific to the 72 model year RR, SSP, or is it an option at time of purchase? I hope this make sense?

If it comes with the rubber piece is it being re-manufactured or do I have to buy original?
Thanks,
Jeff

They were an option, Not reproduced and very hard to find without broken attaching studs.
