Bought a ssp

I bought a 72 ssp today. It is pretty clean as far as rust goes. I wanted to get a 71 rr or satillite because I like the rear bumpers better. I dont know if the trunk lid has the cut outs for a spioler if some one knows could you help me out with this one. It does not have a motor or trans(auto on floor) but thats ok I have a 71 six pac motor minus the two outer carbs and the tranny to go with it. The int is white, which is not my favorite so I will most likely change it to black. It has the clock and a flawless cluster. fender mounted turn sigs. dual mirrors (chrome) that I will change to painted ones. It is a torred car with a white canopy top, I dont know if I am going to paint it torred or sassy grass, but I do know that canopy top has to go. I am going to buy an air grabber set up as soon as the seller calls me. I will get some pictures up as soon as I get a chance. Now I have to wait untill it gets delivered. Thats the hardest part.

My 72 RR does have the cut outs for a spoiler. The production date was 9/1/71. The trunk lid is original so I am guessing a couple of 72s came off the line with the cut outs in tact.

PS Sassy green is an awesome color

That's interesting. At which plant was your car built? I would guess they used up the leftover stock from the 71 model year....it would be interesting to know about when they switched over at each plant.

It needs a little body work, but other than that this car is pretty clean. I loose interest fast when a car is rusty, its much nicer to straighten it out as opposed to cutting out all the rust and putting it back together.

I dont have any pics. of the underside that I can post now but I will get some up as soon as the car meets me in Wisconsin. There is no really bad rust on this car It should be there in about two weeks maybe less. The guy was selling it on ebay and he was also selling it local so I called him as if I was local and we made a deal. Not to offend any of you ssp lovers but this one is getting cloned. It doesnt have the original drive train so I think why not. I am leaning towards sassy grass. I ordered some repop air grabber parts today, wow $800 for the bubble, door and a bare box. I used to have a couple of these hanging in my garage(back in the day). Does anyone have any sources for all the other air grabber parts? I have looked at year one and legendary for interior stuff who else sells quality interior pieces?

For all the air grabber brackets, linkages, and other underhood parts, Wilson Productions is the best, most accurate place to go. Allen is very knowlegeable about A/G parts and finishes. The hardest thing to find will be a correct actuator. No one reproduces these. You can make the hidden headlight actuators from a charger work but the arm end and hose connections are slightly different...
