vinyl top

Post by landon1 » Sun Feb 12, 2006 8:18 pm

Hey
I know my car had a vinyl top, because the build sheet says the roof is white, not blue. I also know that it came with the chrome around the rear side windows, doors, and hood(?). Is there any way to tell from this if it was a partial or full vinyl top?
Thanks

Full white vinyl top would be V1W and 3/4 top is V4W on the fender tag

Is it possible that my car just had the white roof painted on? That sounds dumb, but I can't find either of those codes on the fender tag or broadcast sheet.

It is possible, there are some cudas and dusters out there with painted tops, but I've never seen a 71 satellite before....on your fender tag, 3rd line up from the bottom farthest left code is the top paint or vinyl color. White painted top would be GW3.

Yeah it says GW3 white roof color/top. I assumed it meant vinyl top, not painted, since I hadn't seen one before.
Thanks

There's a first. I have NEVER seen a '71 and up b-body with a painted roof. That's gotta be unusual.
