'71 GTX Rallye Mirror question

Post by gary » Sat Sep 03, 2022 11:17 pm

Any thoughts on how to "tighten up" the Pass.side mirror ? It does not hold adjustment. Chrome is ok and glass is good. It is an original mirror and i really do not want a Chinese junk repop. Thanks

Good question - I hope someone here has a good answer for you. Do you have chrome racing mirrors, or body painted ones. You can come across some good used ones once in awhile.

Gary - I used some red Loctite on mine.
Just put a dab on the ball and move the mirror around to get the ball nicely covered.
Then set up the mirror how you would like it when driving.
The Loctite will gel up and hold it in place.
The other thing I would try (but haven't) is that LP construction glue - it should do the same thing.

Thanks Guys, I ended up using JB weld on the pivot point. Chrome is ok for driver.quality. OER has some Repops, but i question the Fit and quality.Any Thoughts ?

I bought an OER mirror for my 70 charger and it looks and fits just like my original.
