Fender or hood mounted trun signals

Post by rr6pak » Sun Aug 07, 2005 8:17 pm

Is there much, if any, difference in the hood mounted turn signals compared to the fender mounted?

What year(s) are we talking about? The hood mounted turn signals on my 72 are WAY different than fender mounted...

I have a '71 RR with the hood mounted turn signals. I've only seen the fender mounted ones and I wasn't sure if they both are the same. The wires are cut on the signals as well. I want to either replace them or find another set.

Hood mounted and fender mounted signals were the same for 1971 and 1972.
The only difference between hood mounted and fender mounted signals are the lenght of the wires.
The 1971-1972 signals were body color.

Can you buy the hood mounted turn signal wires?

I'm gonna have the same problem myself. My Satellite has fender mounted turn signals, while the pristine '72 RR bulge hood I bought has the holes for the turn signals on the hood! When I get the car painted (hopefully this Spring), I'll have the bodyman move the turn signals to the bulge hood and fill the holes on the fender tops.
