Fan Shrouds For All

Wondering if anyone can positively confirm that a 71 or 72 GTX or RR with a 440 4-BBL and a 22" radiator would have a shroud. Mine didn't when I bought it in 2012. Listings for shrouds at YearOne and Classic Industries seem to be saying not all 22" radiators had shrouds.

I'm not so much concerned about correctness as that my fan fits in the shroud opening.

There were no factory 440 4bbl road runners in 71, so only GTXs can be used as reference.
Yes, 440 + 4 GTXs for 71 did come with shrouds. Factory manual lists the same part # for 383 and 440 cars, 2998328 (cars without A/C)

Thanks, Eric. Found all the info you stated in my service manual and parts catalog about an hour after I posted both here and B Bodies Only. Need to train myself to look there. Apparently, basic cooling systems on some vehicles with 22" radiators had no shrouds. A little bit surprising because of the safety issue. Keep you fingers and tools away from the fan at all times when the engine is running, folks.

I think the 22" was he standard for these cars and AC/HD cooling, ect came with the 26" radiators. A small block wouldn't really need the shroud where a 383/ 440-4 would.
and YUP, nothing makes knuckles tingle like getting grazed by a solid drive 4 blade. At least the clutchs give a little bit :)
