Decklid alignment problem

The decklid on my '73 RR was too far to the right and too far back on the right side after doing all the adjustments I could with the hinge bolts. I was able to pry the whole thing to the left with a 2X4 so that part is fixed, but the right side is still too far back and I'm out of adjustment on the right hinge to be able to move that side to where it needs to be. It's as if something is wrong with the right hinge, or it was spotwelded too far back when the body was made. Is there a way to move the right side of the decklid forward without having to enlarge the openings on the decklid where the hinge bolts go thru to try to make more adjustment, or is this my only option? I figure it needs to come forward between 1/8" and 3/16" so it's not off by much - just enough to look bad. I just hate having to wallow out holes with a die grinder if I don't have to.

Thanks for any ideas.

These might not be good ideas but....

Did the hinges get bent or pushed out of shape?

Is it the original deck lid? Same Year? Just thinking , possibly the attachment points changed a little between certain years?

Thats all I got. :? Hope you figure it out.

Thanks. I'm pretty sure it's original to the car. The car didn't look like it had ever been wrecked or the hinges bent when I got it. It just looks like the right hinge didn't get spotwelded in the right place to me; that or something is wrong with the hinge itself.

Just wondering if the opposite side hinge was out of adjustment and whether the latch was installed or not.

Were you able to fix the alignment on the right side?
