Road Runner Nest

can someone show a closeup pic of the hood latch and the rod, mine is just hanging down, no clips or anything, it opens the hood but there should be a handle or something?? what am I missing??, also does it go thru that small hole in the bracket in the center of the header panel,,a pic sure would help,,thanks

I don't know 73s and if they're the same as 71s, but here's the bracket that holds the bottom of the rod for a 71.
