71 roadrunner gas tank sending unit

can someone tell me what size sending unit i need in my 71 340 roadrunner, is it 3/8 or 5/16, did small blocks take 5/16 inlet and big blocks take 3/8 or did it go by year, any help would be geat

What size are the lines going to the front of the car? I think only the Hemi, and 6 pack got 3/8, but I can't swear to that.

That's correct (maybe 440 4v too), but all others got 5/16"

the 440 4bbl 440 6bbl hemi got 3/8 and 1/4 return line
340 360 383 400 got 5/16 line
