body parts

Post by 72sat » Tue Oct 04, 2016 2:00 am

thinking about producing body parts for this car. wanted opinions about some aspecs of production. front bumper has some flaws of metal forming process. should these flaws be produced into the part?. or should they be corrected. these are production flaws of the metal forming process, not blems.

The front bumpers are already being reproduced by someone and I think the reviews on them are fairly favorable. Did you want to try and reproduce a more authentic/more original looking bumper? Trying to form the very thick guage steel that these bumpers are made of would cause some variation from bumper to bumper I would think. You have to remember - these cars weren't produced to be show cars - they were produced to be transportation. Good original cars and parts had flaws a lot of times. Good luck! Scott.

A carbon fiber hood with a built in air graber bubble would be cool, imo!

Yes, an affordable but accurate reproduction air grabber bubble would be awesome. Scott.
