Oil dipstick and tube

Post by rr6pak » Tue Apr 12, 2016 9:38 am

Have a 400 and need a oil dipstick and tube. Motor has aluminum heads and will have headers. Will a stock one fit or after market? Not sure which one will be better but kind of like some of the after market ones to coincide with the heads and headers as to OEM. Anyone have suggestions/advice? Thanks

I just had this problem, I have a 470 stroker, headers, aluminum heads, intake ect, i ran the milodon road race pan with their 3/8" oil pick up. Couldn't get the stick in the pan, pulled it all apart and found that the oil dipstick hit dead center of the oil pickup. I had to make a custom tube and I now use the top bung on the oil pan for my dipstick tube. The dipstick you will need is the milodon universal ss dipstick

400 stroked to 470ci, 3:55 Eaton true trac, slightly upgraded suspension lol

Dangina:

Your set up is basically the same as mine. I do have a 3/8 pick up package in my pan (not sure the brand). What do you mean and what did you do to "make a custom tube and I now use the top bung on the oil pan for my dipstick tube" ? Also, "bung"? Sorry for the questions

Got a picture?

I saw the Milodon SS dipstick but again, not sure what would work or not

Thanks
