Chassis Subframe Differences 71 vs. 72?

Substantially different from mine, especially the rear one, which extends much farther forward and is welded to the pan in the rear footwell area. On mine, the front one covers about the same area, but has a vertical section which is welded to the tube frame, the inner rocker there where the fender bolts on, and maybe even to the floor pan. That brake line tubing passes thru a 1" hole.

Like I said there are a few different ones from different vendors and we wasn't sure about these when we put them in. For all I know they may be for an older model car.

When I look at your rear one, I can't figure out how it adds any stiffening to the chassis. Granted I can't really see where all it is welded to, but it doesn't appear to be welded to the subframe in a manner that would do any real good.
