Tuff Wheel with PADDED horn cap

Post by 71Satellite98661 » Thu Sep 03, 2015 3:07 pm

Gentlemen, I've finally got a hold of the correct padded style vinyl steering wheel center cap for a Tuff Wheel which seems to be the same used later on Lil Red Express and possibly others. My question is whether this cap should be color keyed with interior color or just black. I have a 71 with blue interior. Also, the plastic band seems to be a brushed or satin silver. I've got the cap at a instrument Specialties now waiting on my decision to replicate the satin or go chrome. Any thoughts?

The center pad is black and the ring is chrome in the early years. In later years when they used the tuff wheel again the pad was color keyed to the color of the interior.
