What kind of driving do you want to do is the big question? Brewers, or Passon either one can build you a good transmission. BUT, if you want to do any driving at all that is more than 55mph for more than just around town, then a Passon 4 speed overdrive is the only good choose.

Third gear is 1 to 1, and 4th I think is .80 so yes it lowers rpm. It also can handle big power, and torque unlike the Chrysler OD that was behind /6s, and 318s.You can by the gears, and install yourself in your case, or send it to him. I have one, and really like cause I can run 80 mph at a little over 2500. Now I have 354 gears. If you go to his web site there is a chart that tell what the speeds, and rpm are.

I think I would mock up the trans, and and shifter for them to weld in the shifter hump. You don't need to worry about that after the fact.

What is the cost by the way for Passon and do you need a core?

I think if you buy a full transmission out right it is $3000. You can buy the gear set, and put it in your case if you want, or send him your case , and let him install the gear set. If it is the original, I think I would do that, so it would have a warranty. Just call, and talk to him, and that way you can check on the other stuff you might need. What do you mean what is in front of my Dana? Are you talking about drive shaft, or engine ect?

I have a Hemi, and put an aluminum drive shaft in it cause I didn't have one. I have pictures over in the general index under………"living with the bird", and a couple of posts on back about the engine.

no core needed, i was quoted around $4800, I've been on the waiting list now for a year and a half and jamie said it will be another 9 months before they get to me on the list...I think they can do it with your old core but why would you? the new trans is all aluminum! I'd pay the extra cost just on shipping the boat anchor alone because of how heavy those trannys are!

You must be talking about the 5 speed, the 4 speed OD is $3100 for the whole thing. Just the internal parts are cheaper.
