After market door mirrors
Anyone bought aftermarket side/door mirrors? How is the fit, etc? I have a set from a vendor, had them painted body color but thought I read about the fit, etc from these.

Re: After market door mirrors
The ones I bought are junk, and they all come from the same place, it's just different people selling them. You can't get the mirror to go where you want with the inside remote, and then the vibration from just driving, will make it move, it won't stay where I put it. They are like the door handles, it'd be better to redo our originals. Jules used to redo these mirrors, but since he died, I don't think anybody else is doing it. i am going to try to redo my originals myself.

Now they might have improved this crap a bit since I bought mine, I don't know. I feel the same way, they spend all of that money developing this sh*t, but they won't go that .00001% extra to make it work.

I hear ya and feel the pain. Bought the side mirrors from BEA , had them painted body color, but haven't installed them. I mainly want to continue restoring my car and not have to take several steps backwards to gain on step.71bird wrote:Now they might have improved this crap a bit since I bought mine, I don't know. Re: After market door mirrors
what angered me more was my headliner and the weatherstripping for the doors and windows, they were close, but not quite there, if they base them off originals, why do they go 85% instead of the full 100%? is it really that difficult to go the extra 10-15%? the amount of aftermarket stuff I bought for this car, and how NOTHING fit right out of the box where I didn't have to modify it in some way, shape or form is staggering
(including engine parts). The GM guys don't have these issues. Were on the bus of if it doesn't quite fit, oh well, deal with it.

I bought the primered mirrors from BEA as well. They look ok to me and bolt up correctly
BUT i am not even close to driving this beast yet, so i cant say what they'll do under vibration
