71-72 leaf springs different from 73/74?

Post by Hugh » Sat Oct 11, 2014 7:08 pm

I am looking to replace the rear leafs on my 73 Satellite. I made a mistake 8 years ago when I ordered them and didn't check the part number. Turns out they are 4" lift and I hate them! I just happened to find the receipt for them and googled the part number and found out they are for drag racing applications where taller tires are used. Anyway, Hotchkis lists part number for 71/72 but not 73/74. I have deleted iso in rear and everywhere on the car. It is solid in rear mount like the 71/72. Does anyone know if the overall length was the same? I can't see why it wouldn't be. According to Hotchkis it looks like 66 to 72 was all the same part number. Why would there be a drastic change for 73/74 except for that stupid iso system that I trashed years ago?

The center pin is larger on 73-4 but think they a the same length.

Thanks for the reply. My receipt says '66-'74 b body. I just don't want to make another mistake! The Hotchkiss springs look nice. Firm feels also makes springs and I could go the custom route for the price of the Hotchkiss springs. My Satellite sits like a 4wd now! I am looking for 1" drop which should bring the car down about 5" or so if you can believe that!
