I am restoring my 71 RR interior. Does anyone know if the steering column and hinge covers on the bucket seats were a semi gloss black. I used landau black on my seat backs and lower door panels. Sem. Vinyl / plastic paint. I don't know if it will work on metal?

According to the 71 body service manual, section 12-9.......
The code for the low black, ( and this is all the black painted parts inside)
Chrysler : AB61DX9
Ditzler Code-DIA 9388
The column for sure. I thought the hinge covers were part of the seat backs on the buckets- so I won't wander there.

Thank you I will go to the local autobody paint supply and see if they can match the number.

Early 71s, say up to around Dec. had separate henge covers, and they were seat color. Late 71s, and 72s everything was part of the seat back. They won't inter change cause the release button is different.

The brackets that hold the column to the dash and the firewall are semi gloss black.
