Yep, I like that color combination. Definitely will not see another one like it. Good job so far in bringing this one back to life! Scott.

what a GREAT looking car!!!! I love the oddball colors, because when you show up with one, it's not just another impact color car, it's a much bigger statement. I've never seen a V02 car personally...I love it!! it makes me wonder if I should have deleted my vinyl top now, or just painted where I couldn't get the gold vinyl.

Thanks for the compliments guys! My son was adamant that the car had to be painted back to the original colors and now I'm glad that's what we did. We did find a date code correct 400 to put in it someday when the 440 gives up but for right now it will just look original until you open the hood.

2Tone72RR - this is a great color combination! I had a 72 SSP back in 72 with this color combo, except it had a green vinyl top very close to your car's top color. I looked great on that Satellite and will look great on your car when completed. Good luck with your build.

My friend Ian's 71 SSP around 1994. Your car brings back many great memories. The car is long gone. I'd love to know where it is now to return the fender tag. Kudos for maintaining the original paint scheme. I'd walk through a lot full of high impact paint to see your one of a kind!

Re: 2 Tone 72 RR and the 72 Option and Accessory Report
Sorry it has been so long since an update guys. This is probably the latest picture I have. Not much different from the ones before. The body shop is moving at a snail's pace right now and I have been busy trying to find work for our tool and die job shop and have not had much time to prod them along.
Right now I am chasing the retainers for the belt molding and the vinyl top trim molding. I am having a heck of a time locating the p/n 6003133's. I managed to get ten from a fine fellow on Ebay (silverbird59) but I still need at least 4 more to finish it off. The other pieces needed to install the trim I'm still a little iffy on too. If you guys have pics or know where I can get all these retainers I would appreciate the info.
As soon as I get the car back to my building I will take some pics and post them. It's great to know others are interested in our build and don't think we are "completely" crazy to take this car back to its original color combo.

No, by all means take it back to original. I have a color combo that I have never been 'completely' happy with and have been tempted (many times) to redo the scheme, but I finally decided to keep it the original build and there are fewer and fewer original spec cars left as years go by.
Input from RR Nest members have also helped to keep me on the straight and narrow....

Hey everyone,
We finally got old '2 Tone' back from the body shop.
Here's a few pictures when we pulled in our place:
I know we still have a long way to go but we are extremely excited to get started again. Really like the way the paint turned out and glad we stuck with the original colors. I doubt we see another. No one else is crazy enough!!
I sure we will be asking lots of questions along the way. Thanks in advance.

That is fantastic!!! I LOVE it!
I've always had a really soft spot for the oddball option/color cars. I don't care as much for the "everyone's got a plum crazy________" crowd. I'm so glad my GTX was GY9, I love your two tone green, it'll definitely draw attention.

Hello, my name is mitchell moor
It has taken me a long time but I have finally found you. I am the son of the gentleman who sold you the car from concord, North Carolina.
I am deeply thrilled that the car is getting the makeover it deserved. And I am deeply interested to find out if the car has been finished and driving on the road and what has been done to it.
I see you have kept the original paint job but have gone wit a different drivetrain, the exact thing I wanted to do.
I was heartbroken as when that car was sold it was my first vehicle even non driving it still held a sentimental value to me and I have been through plenty of vehicles already and I miss this one to this day.
I would like to see some more pictures of it as I would love to see how it's doing
Long story short is I have now started a family of my own and my wife has always wanted an older muscle car.
I would like to ask and see if you would ever think about possibly selling the car.
I understand if you don't and that's okay but it's worth a shot
My email is Moor7.62x54r@gmail.com.........again even if you aren't interested in letting the car go I would still love to see pictures of it, please email me back soon

Don't let the body shop bust on you about the colors, that thing is beautiful! And you sure as heck will never see another one like it. Engine looks great too!
