Fender mounted turn signal indicators

Post by Magnes » Tue Jul 09, 2013 11:05 pm

My 72 SSP came from the factory with the fender mounted turn signal indicators but somewhere along the way with the previous owner(s) they are gone... I have found several sets for Dodges, and E bodies, etc. and was wondering, are they all the same or are they model and year specific?

I apologize if this is a dumb question. I would imagine that they are the same for 71 and 72 B bodies but I'm not so sure if indicators from an A or E body would be the same. It's hard to tell just from pictures. I did a search and couldn't find an answer. I appreciate your patience as I learn the ins and outs.

The units you are looking for will come off a 70-72 cuda, or 71-2 road runner / GTX. These are the smooth units that look almost like the reverse scoop on the Superbird front fenders or the muscle hustle tach- just smaller. They are body color, not chrome, are not squared off. I will see if I can dig up a picture from the net and post it later tonight.
4th generation B bodys- there is no substitute.

Odd, I assumed they were the more standard chrome units. My car is missing them too and thought I would also be looking for the chrome units.

Thanks for the heads-up.

This is what Year-One shows as correct....yeah, $408.00

I think those chrome ones are the 73 and up ones. I have a 71 in my parts bin somewhere. I might be able to put up a pic by Monday night. Scott.

Plymouth fender or hood mounted turn signal were body colored in 1971-72, Dodge's were chromed but the same smaller size.
1973-74 were larger chromed turn signal for both makes.

Year One is criminal with their pricing, especially for a wrong part!

I think Classic Ind has the same junk as those, maybe cheaper though.

Thanks!!

Great reference picture. No wonder they were taken off my car before I bought it...probably got close to the same amount of money as for the rest of the car.

if your wiring harness is bad evans has the pattern for the 72 with fender turn signals. they copied one from a 72 sebring i parted. they made one for me that works and fit great.
