Transmission/Converter Dust Shield

Post by JT71RR » Thu Jun 13, 2013 1:13 pm

I just picked up the little inspection plate that bolts to the bottom of the converter dust shield and noticed that there are 2 larger bolt holes up the side of the shield that don't have bolts in them. I found the following image that shows a bracket of some kind on the hole on the right.

Any idea what that bracket is? Just want to make sure I'm not missing something here.

looks like the trans to engine bracket used on small block cars.
