Road Runner Nest

I have been reading a couple of posts in which the date code on the glass is mentioned. I have looked at the glass on both the door and quarter and although I do see some numbers, I can't make any sense of it. How do you get a date code from when the glass was made?

Here is a link to the MMC page on various date codes. Let us know if your glass has a code that matches the example given, or if you have something entirely different. Scott.

This does help a bit except for now I think I am more confused about my driver's door. It has a date code of August 1970, which for my early 71 would be perfect, except for the fact that the driver's door on my car was transplanted from a 72 SSP.? So, perhaps the door was replaced but the original glass retained?

That very well could be. If the original door was not too badly dented, the innards were probably fine. Sounds like your original innards were transplanted to the new door shell. Scott.
