72 RR engine detailing

Post by Sanitylost » Sun Apr 07, 2013 9:32 am

Well as luck would have it I have to replace the rear seal on the 72 RR.
So, I opted to remove the engine so I can work on it easier and also clean/paint everything up and really detail the engine to my likeing.
A few questions came up, The Air cleaner lid, The car is an original Air grabber car and I would like to redo the air cleaner lid, I know there supposed to be orange, my question is the decal, should it have the 400 four barrel sticker on it OR just the small decal with cleaing insructions on it?
Also the throttle return spring what color should it be? Its a automatic car if that means anything in regards to the spring color, ALSO the oil dipstick and tube, painted or natural? Pictures of original engines and related parts would be great!,
Thanks,
Jeff
