I need to be schooled on 4 sp. shifters

I am converting from an auto to 4 speed w/console. I am going to look at some used parts and the guy said he had some shifters. He told me some were aftermarket comp. plus shifters and he knew that a couple were from Road runners or chargers. He didn't know what years though. I really don't know what my options are. What shifter housings can I use. Can I use an aftermarket comp. plus housing and rebuild it with the correct levers? Or should I get a Mopar housing and rebuild that? Or do I have to get the correct e &b body shifter? I'm kinda over budget on the conversion and I still need the pedals and linkage so I'm trying to cut corners on the shifter if I can. Thanks in advance!

Also contact Brewersperformance.com. I have purchased several items from him including a new correct shifter mechanism for my 1972 Charger conversion. His site is very helpful.

Godspeed,

If you are going to get a comp plus be sure to tell them console. I think there is a difference.
