Road Runner Nest

Hey! I have a section on my driver's side rear quarter that a previous owner scraped down the side of a garage. It's right on the ridge over the wheel well. My question is how do I go about straightening that out? I have very little body work experience, but I'm pretty good with my hands. I'm wondering if it might be better or easier to find a section of a rear quarter panel that someone didn't need for their car and cut it out and replace it. I don't want a ton of body filler on my car. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you cant' get behind it to pound it out out, you will have to pull it out. You could go old school on it and drill along the crease and use a slide hammer to pull it out. Or you could weld on some studs and pull it out. Maybe you could rent that. If you dont have the tools take it to a body guy and pay them to pull it out. Then finish it your self. It is not bad enough to replace. That would creat way too much work.

I agree with GTXS. My car had the exact same thing where someone had rubbed up against a pole at one time. It took my body guy to weld in 5-7 little studs and pull it out. He did have to use a VERY little filler to make the contour of the fender but it looks great. As said, welding in a whole new pice would be more pain and hassle than its worth. If you dont know a body guy, ask a friend that knows. Eastood has a stud gun cheap but a body guy should have one too. I'm no body guy but I would think you should get that fixed at a max of $300 maybe(?) Good luck and post what happends

When pulled out the metal will want to go back to it's original shape. It has a memory probably better then mine.

Thanks for the info! I do know a body guy that is part of our local mopar group. I'll have him take a look.

Reline337 that looks like a fairly simple repair/fix. If the guy you know knows body work, he should hve no problem fixing it for ya.
