Production Figures/Options List

Post by 72beepbeep » Mon Feb 06, 2012 1:18 am

HI does anyone have the options list for the 72 RR? In addition to this, any information regarding the number of 72 RR 400 block 4spds with power steering made? I know there were 902 400 block 4spds made but not the amount that had power steering (if it even was an option).

Cheers
Ash

Chrysler lists do not let you break down that far.

I posted this earlier on another post.
Power steering was on almost 80% of 1972 RR's

The only way to know is to find a copy of the "Options and Accessories Report- Shipment" for 1971 Plymouth for that model.
At the end of the production year they totaled up all the engine, trans, axle, options built for each model.
Using their fancy data-punch entry cards and computers they came up with percentages of the total for each option (including paint).
It wasn't a totaly an exact number but it was close enough for them to see what sold and what didn't.
Like power streering option S77 was on almost 80% of 1972 Road Runners at $113.70 it was EXPENSIVE but almost every RR had it.
Pure porfit for Ma Mopar.
All I have for 1971 is 3.2% of the entire Satellite line was painted EV2 Tor-Red.
You are going to need to find someone with that report that is willing to share those numbers with you on 1971 SSP's

The 1973 Advanced Information lists a breakdown of certain options ordered in the 72 model year. Unfortunately, they only show the percentage numbers across the entire Satellite model lineup.

Here's info from Barry's Hamtramck Historical website

You can find options here:
