1972 Sending Unit

Is there a difference between early 72 sending units and late 72 sending units?
as far as I know only the tanks are different.

I know the tanks are different, I have already purchased a late 72 tank with the 4 vents. But Tamraz parts is trying to convince me that because I have a late 72 car I need a 'special' sending unit that they dont stock and would have to be special ordered for double the cost!

I just looked in my parts book and they only list 1 for a 440 and 1 for everything else. Nothing about date.

Thanks, I purchased one from Vans Auto as they list 71-73 for their units but I am having to wait 2 weeks as its on back order (something they didn't tell me before they took my money and I had already waited a week and a half and had to call them to find out why it was taking so long)
