Anyone know if a performer rpm or mopars version of this intake will fit under our hoods with a stock dual snorkel air cleaner?

Edelbrock Performer RPM is a high-rise that adds about 1.5 inches to the overall height. I have an airgrabber setup and the stock air cleaner pan and cover definitely do not fit - I needed to get a drop base air cleaner to get it to fit under the hood and am still working on fabbing something to get back to a stock appearance. Unless you have 1.5 inches to spare (which I don't know - but doubt) this combo probably wont fit.

If you have b block it should since that sits about and inch lower than a rb block. Infact I know when I get mine i'm going to have to get a 440 baseplate for the airgrabber since the neck is shorter that inch in height that the 383 baseplate

Nice clarification road chicken -- I was referring to a RB fit and indeed - a B engine would give you more room.

For Pats. Application it should work because the dual snorkle unit is pretty low profile vs.the AG set up we have. Plus he doesn't have the fiberglass underhood duct work taking up that space between the top of the aircleaner and the bottom of the hood.

Well - I was able to accomplish my goal- restore an original-looking airgrabber air cleaner element while using the Performer RPM on a 440.

I used a fiberglass reproduction base - removed the middle part and fabricated in a drop-element base in its place. Wouldn't fool anyone and that isn't my intent. But I do like to be able to restore the function of the grabber and get back to a stock-like look.

I tested out the fitment of the stock dual snorkel air cleaner on the EZ-EFI throttle body and man, when this is done, you won't be able to tell its fuel injected. The air cleaner is so large that you would have to be an expert to tell its not stock lol. So I'm guessing that running the performer rpm won't be a problem since I don't have the duct work etc? Want to go with Mopar Performance's RPM since it has the Mopar logo.

How much gap is there between the lid and the base? Looks restrictive... possibly to the point of defeating at least some of the performance gain of the RPM.

I too am thinking about that. It is tighter than I want it to be inside and definitely costs HP. The stock lid on this drop base creates a pinch point where it dips down just inside the filter element. At that point - I have about 3/4 of an inch with the 2.75 inch tall element. On a stock air grabber base and lid the space there is about 1.5 inches, but the shape is different of the base so it is not a pinch point.

Its easy enough to go back to the 14 inch open element drop base when its in 'go' mode rather than 'show' mode. I just prefer the stock look if the hood's up.

I had a Holley Street Dominator on my 69 Charger and wanted to run a stock style dual snorkel. The horns would hit the hood. I got a Ford Motorsports drop base air cleaner which also utilized a 13" element and used it's base under the dual snorkel lid. I found the pinch point to be too tight for my liking. I was also running a Holley with a choke horn.

My point being, anytime you run a drop base you have watch the clearance to the lid.

Reviving an old post here. Was wondering, did the Mopar Performer RPM manifold work under the stock non AG hood? And what other modifications did/do you have to do to make it work (linkage, throttle cable, etc.)?

We are building a 440 for our 72 and want to use the rpm intake if possible with the original dual snorkle air cleaner.

i think it should be fine? the airgrabbers sit higher than the snorkle, by how much I couldn't tell ya, maybe the experts can chime in, I'm sure its been done before
