Jeff
My Tag indicates "H51" for the roof?

I found this thread while searching for parts for the factory sunroof on my 74 Satellite Sebring Plus. The gears are stripped out and I have not been able to locate any. It is a manual sunroof (moonroof) I was hoping to score some help here seeing that there are some sunroof parts collectors here.
Thanks!

Hey Bill,
Manual sunroof parts are tough to come by, along with the power sunroof components - they are even tougher. I stripped down a 73 Sebring with a sunroof several years back and sold all the sunroof specific parts in less than 3 days! Very few parts are being reproduced. Best course of action is to keep an eye out on the parts forums on Moparts and for B-Bodies only, and check FeeBay once in a while. It would also be very good to put your parts request into the Parts Wanted sections of those forums. That way, people know that you are looking. I will keep an eye out also since I am into the sunroof cars. Please make sure you post a few pics of your ride here on the Nest!

Good luck with your search,
Scott.

Scott, thank you for the reply. I will get some pics up when I get her out of the garage and dust her off. She isn't real pretty yet. Drive train is done but the body needs a lot of work.

How would I find this Mr. Hemnway? I tried searching without luck.

Thanks again for the help.

Just a follow up. I have a complete 71 power roof and a complete manual roof cassette. I thought it might be a good idea to document both of them since they do not interchange. I'm also having a new cable shoe made for the manual unit, ( where the cables engage the gear). These were made out of aluminum and they wear out causing the cables to slip. I'm sure there are a lot of these out there that think the cables or gear are bad and it's just this shoe that has worn out.
Anyway, once I'm done with that then the manual assembly will go up for grabs.

And as for the power unit, that is getting installed on the chicken. I actually got very lucky with that one. It sat , partially open,in a boneyard for 20 years. I figured it was going to be stuck or at least chunky to move. Surprise surprise, the the thing moves smooth as silk driving it manually. I might hook up the motor and see if it still works as well.

BTW has anyone seen a replacement switch for these? That is the only part I do not have.

O.K. guys,

I have been trying to lay in a decent amount of various Sunroof parts for the electric powered ones. Been doing them a LONG time now. Just contact me with your needs and I will see if I can help. As said, these parts are EXTREMELY difficult to come by. I have been having some stuff reproduced as well. Scott has been letting me know some of you are looking for various stuff. You can PM here if you are looking for something!

Not to water this down... But long ago I had a 71 chrgr with sunroof code that didn't have the sunroof at all.. I was told this was somewhat common do to the outsourcing.. The car had 3 tags and was a fleet car.. Numbs matched the body.. Sound plausible?
