It could have been removed before I got the car

Can someone post pics of mounting location please & thankyou

here's hoping I dont have to remove the rear pannels and get covered in the sound deadening goo i used on the plastic again....sigh

Sorry, no photos.
It mounted thru the headliner, you should be able to find the threaded inserts if you look.

You may be able to " feel "them under the headliner.

And it was a separate shoulder belt until '74.

okay, so I'm not nuts, the '74 did have true 3-point belts?

Anyone ever swap the '74 belts into a 71/72?

I'm also curious about this. I'm going to have to buy new belts because I'm planning on changing my interior color. I know it wouldn't be "correct", but sure would be a lot easier since I plan to regularly drive my car. =)

I have a '72, put new headliner in. The shoulder harness mounts to the roof above the windows, through the headliner. There is also a clip to hold it if it is not attached to the seat belt. So....I just put the shouldner harness in the "not used" box and just use a seat belt.

If I ever get stopped I can say, "this car never had one" and unless the cop owned a '72 Road Runner, he won't know since there is NOTHING in the car that looks like where one was.

That's my story, I'm sticking to it, you can't prove it and I won't do it again!

I left mine out of my 71, they were always falling down in the way.I started to do the 74 type ,but the car progressed too fast for me to get my stuff together. I was thinking on using structular body glue, that way i wouldn't have to weld.Might still do that one day,and the retracts and ancor are behind the rear side panel, Different panel. Things changed a lot between 72 and73.Front bucket seat tracks are different ect.

If you are good with a welder you can weld in the threaded piece you need. Most body shops won't due to liability reasons.
My 74 has the 3 point set up but I am missing the main harness.

Here is a pic of my passenger side shoulder belt in my 1971 Sebring Plus before I removed the interior. You guys like my custom headliner? The mounting point is above the rear passenger window with a couple of clips to hold it up above the main passenger window. I plan to just use lap belts when I get everything back together.

A 71 or 72 is a 2 piece system. If you get pulled over by the cops, and they ask why weren't you wearing your shoulder strap, you can tell them you don't have to, as long as you are wearing your lap belt. Because it's a 2 piece system not a 1 piece you don't need to
