BC AUTO

on my 440 id pad I have makings of F440 BC AUTO
7 1 2
What does the BC AUTO mean? balanced crank for auto tranny?
What does the F mean?
71 2- I guess mean FEB 1971 Thanks Rick

I think it means 440 w 4 Barrel Carb and Auto trans but I could......B..... wrong we will have to.....C......as no answers are.......AUTO.......matically correct but the nest will know.....LOL I crack myself up sometimes.... :haha: :beer:

from Galen's white books:

F - 1970 model year (G would designate 71 model year)
B - 0.10" undersize main & rod bearings
C - special crankshaft/pistons

The F would make sense, left over 440 blocks. Wonder what kind of special crank and pistons they would be? haven't been inside of the motor yet. if the bearings are under sized, guess that might mean a slightly beefer crank. guess i'll have to read up and find out.

I also found a faint V just before the BC AUTO, could be half of the diamond shape they used
