Hello,
Some use Heavy Duty leaf springs to give the rear more lift and lower the front torsion bars just a little.
Different tire sizes front to rear also play a part.
Air shocks are not the standard way to get the mean stance U are looking for.
I know what you mean but any air shock can do what you want if you go that route.

The prolonged use of air shocks can damage the upper shock mount bracket. It will start to crack from the stress. Trust me. I had a Challenger that the springs where beat and someone put air shocks on. It was so bad you could move it with your hand. I welded all the cracks took off the air shocks and fixed the springs.

When I switched to 15`s instead of 14`s I took the car in and had an extra leaf spring put in and that gave me enough clearance and height. I also adjusted the front end up a bit when I removed my small block and installed a 440 as the weight difference was huge. My car seems to be sitting nicely

Sometimes I get to feeling that if Xmas, Fathers Day and my Birthday did not exist, then aftershave too would not exist.

Mine was raised up by having a machine shop "re-bend" the leafs. It gave them their "spring" back. lol <----pun.
It also raised the rear up significantly. I am trying to get mine down again though

does anyone just make a longer spring shackle? (the pivoting part where the spring attaches the frame in the rear) some aftermarket companies made slightly longer ones to work with the stock springs.

Generally a longer spring shackle doesn't work. It'll pull the spring down, but it doesn't really raise up the back of the car. So you wind up with your springs even more exposed. Trust me, I tried it when I was young. I wound up taking the car to a spring shop, and having them rearc the springs. You tell them where you want the car to sit, and they know what to do. Yes, it's not exactly cheap. But you get what you pay for.

Well, to be honest with you. I see you live in Germany. Don't know where you would take the car there to have the job done. Here in the states they have shops that do rear springs. You take the car to them. Tell them what you want, and they either rearc the spring, or put another one in the assembly that has more arc to it which forces the other springs to conform to the new one. Price? I couldn't tell you. I did that to my '65 Satellite. Which was back in 1968! Since then on my other cars I've always used Gabriel air shocks with no problems. But I have known guys who did have problems with the top shock mount breaking loose in their car.

The picture is before new springs and shocks.
It is higher now all the way around.
Same tires and wheels.
