Road Runner Nest

The past week and a half I have been trying to start my car.No luck.I have charged two batteries,used 2 jump boxes and battery charger combination's and nothing.Last time I tried the car sucked all the juice out of my jump box,and that was unplugged-to car fully charged.The starter just clicks any other time,or does nothing at all.

I know a guy who has a duster.He told me awhile back I should invest in a new ignition box,said the stock ones go screwy.Is this possibly whats happening?It seems like the car is draining juice,but the juice isn't going where its suppose to...All grounds/wires are where they should be,wasn't to long ago the engine was installed so I'm certain of this.The cold weather Is hard on batteries but It should have started with the extra help.The driverside door isn't on but i have been leaving the ground cable off between starts.

Good old Plymouths, When they do not start it is either spark or gas related.

I would check the balast resistor first. Then check the ignition module beside it. I know in the past these have gone bad for me so now I keep spares in the glovebox just in case. You can bypass these and start the car with some wire to narrow it down. I would also check the alternator because something because it might need some attention soon.

Would jegs have them?Are there aftermarket ones available?If not and depending Ill just swap the one from my lebaron to check.

Your starter might be shot. Are the batteries you are using good? You said it just clicks but did it ever turn the motor over(crank)? I don't like the factory ignition set up. I'd upgrade it to a msd or other aftermarket ignition. You can get a balast resistor from any parts house. But if your not getting the motor to crank over it will do you no good.

Yeah the starter needs to crank it fast enough to start.If it does than you need to go back to basics.....pull a plug and check for spark.If no spark work your way back,spark from coil,power to coil,etc.If the ballast resistor goes bad the car will still fire when the ignition is in start but will quit when in run.Has the engine ran since you put it back together?

The motor was turning over but It drained the jump box before I could get It running.(it was a couple days since the last start due to the winter storms we had)It was a fully charged jump box and it went dead within maybe a minute.So starter works,motor turned over.Engine was put In not to long ago,new plugs,new wires,new rotor,coil is fairly new.The batteries I have been using charge,but as soon as I try and start the car juice Is sucked right out of them.Ill try someone elses battery that I know works and see what happens.I have never had this problem before.I have also been told to put rubber underneath my battery because the metal tray is draining it.My original tray was metal so i dont see the point of that.

Well i got it to start.i need a new battery.
