74 Roadrrunner seatbelts

Anyone else have problems with theirs?

A really hokey set-up that year. The stiching is scary too!

Seems like the two retractors "fight" each other. On my car I have to pull out the belt for the lap and hold it then ease in the shoulder, then pull it out and hope/pray I can buckle it without it being too tight.

I contacted Sssnake-oyl in Texas, but they told me they don't have parts to fix them / not worth sending to them and that their universal set-up does not fit in the housing. They were very nice and knowledgeable on the phone though, I would do business with them.

Looked at some parts cars, but the housings are usually smashed and junk
plus, they appear to have same problem.

I looked into putting the 73 issue belts in, but the shoulder harness, not sure if the mounting hole for the strap holder is there, don't feel like tearing my headliner either. Plus I don't have the shoulder strap boss on the lap belt buckle.

Was just wondering if anyone else has the same problem and how they deal with it? My belts do work, just takes a lot of finnagalling
