I've seen an air grabber go for over a grand on ebay. It was in good shape in primer. The going price at the swap meets are anywhere from $600 on up. There is more to it than just the hood. You need the base plate/air filter assembly, dash switch etc... The dash switches go for around $125 on up on ebay. It all depends on how much you have in your wallet and how bad you want it.

$600 for an air grabber hood is a deal if it's complete. As for strapping it to the car, I drove a rental car from Colorado to Iowa with mine strapped to the roof. The roof rack even left dimples in the roof of the rental. Lucky for me they didn't look that close when I checked back in with the rental.

I bought mine minus base plate and cover for $450 in 1991. I don't know if it is inherent in all these hoods , but mine had a stress crack along the top fiberglass, also the studs that hold the air box can back out or strip if you disassemble . not to mention the actuator may or may not hold vacuum. Mine was bought before instant internet access, so I couldn't view before hand . Now its easier for buyer to beware. Still the coolest hood ever produced! good luck

Says it is missing most parts but ill have to see it - heres hoping I dont leave those dimples on my solara :p haha-
Funny thing is about when I rent a car is I go with a no deductable ins.
-I once took a f150 through a 6 foot small pond- only one flat tire and the engine sounded bogged down.
-Mostly cause of how wet the air filter was
Good times in rentals- im sure weve all had them

what a waste of time driving 3 hrs as the hood was a mess-

Why people dont tell you all the details is beyond me..Missing the hump flap/vacuum lines and a huge dent in it...+ really terrible paint job my near perfect satty hood is a ton better... baa!
Oh well at least he had a few mint tail lenses-wasnt a total loss
Lifes like that
