I am in the process of sand blasting my entire 71 curious yella plymouth, doors, trunk , hood are off. Any tips , info would be appreciated

Just make sure to mask off everything you dont want blasted-and remove glass if possible ..learned my lesson there-any open area- the sand will find its way in :p

Consider plastic media, glass beads or baking soda. SAND blasting can warp panels easily and quickly.

thanks, the only stuff I've done so far have been floors and unibody behind fenders and on rockers.
I would like to pick up a rotisserie at some point if anyone has info on that . thanks Dave

thanks steve , quite impressive work done , looks like another one was saved . strange to have such extensive rot on the steering column mount . floor pans looked like buckshot before , beauty now .
did this car come with undercoating originaly? now, did you borrow rotisserie or buy?

hey dave, it was more extensive than I thought it was going to be. it was originally an undercoating car.

The rotisserie is at the restoration shop doing the metal work for me. I've always wanted a '71, and wanted to be sure the body was done right. more to come soon, my bill is paid up, and they're going to start the cosmetics.

Many places sells the rotisseries...US Cartool, autotwirler, etc, etc. Try a google search. Many body shops has them as well, if you dont want to buy one. Hope this helps

The cheapest rotisserie I've seen is the one at Northern Tool. It's usually $999, but occasionally they sale price it at $699.

I bought a Direct Lift from Greg Smith Supply for around a 1K and it inlcuded all the brackets and casters. They are all pretty much made in China now, but it's nice quality and is powder coated. Well worth the money and if you're only going to use it once, you can always sell it after you're done and recoup some of your money.

Car Tool still makes theirs right in the shop in Durham, NC, but they ARE pricey... Most likely have chinese made cylinders though.

wow, thanks for all the info guys. I wonder if a good welder could fabricate one if the stock wasn't out of sight. back to my original question, can I use the rest of the black beauty on the parts of the body that won't be seen? It seems to take off the undercoating quite nicely. on the body, what is better more efficient? I have heard of walnut shells and the plastic media as mentiod . Which cause the least damage/most efficient?

Yes, if you can weld you could make your own rotisserie. Plans are out there!
