hood inserts

I have a roadrunner hood with the horseshoe inserts.I need to know how to bolt the 2 ends to the hood i must be missing something.Any pics or info would be appreciated.Here is a pic of the hood.

Yes, you are missing the bucket type bolt that holds the end in place. I dont have a pic right now.

The original bell nuts have a "fluted" or "petal" end. Problem is the bell nuts make a nice "cup" that trap water and will eventually rust out. So I machined some out of aluminum that were cut so any water that does get it, runs out.
I painted them to match the hood, as when I restored the car I was doing it for ME, not some show judge. It's a one owner car (MOI) and what I really wanted was a car I can cruise the Sonic with, not a trailer queen.
Here's the original bell nuts and you can see how much they had deteriorated over the years. (pix in 2003)
Here's what I replaced them with. You can see how any water that gets in will just run out.
This is what the aluminum ones look like once painted & installed.
