Any 73-74 owners install electric fans on their car?

its not a 73-74 but ive got an electric fan on my 72. i mounted it in front of the radiator to push air thru i also kept the engine driven fan. with the blower i need all the cooling help i can get ,jeff

I'm just curious how people mounted them.Wasn't sure if there was a correct sensible way or if it was self preference.Have any pics ffej?

I thought about putting it all the way up front so its seen through the grill.Is that what you meant by in front,or...?

some fans can mount in front, as a pusher, or behind the radiator, as a puller. not sure there is a difference on where you mount, just that you get the right direction of blade. if you don't have a lot of room between the motor and radiator, you'd go in front imo, but otherwise keep it between the engine and rad, so something doesn't get into your blades and ruin them. idk if the race-type electric fans move enough air or not. it was something i was considering, but didn't want to spend 2-300$ and be out that if it didn't work. you may have to go dual fans, which is even more money.

I want a duel fan setup.I was told removing the engine mounted fan would make my engine run better.haha I want the engine fan on though.

You could always cut a sheet of mesh or screen to put in front of the fans.I may do that.

I put an electric fan on my '71. Used a Viper dual speed. The radiator in the car was already aftermarket when I bought it, so not sure of the brand, but if fits the Viper fan dimensions. I had to trim down the fan shroud for depth. Then had some aluminum bent to attach the shroud to. The fit to the water pump is tight with a little metal removal involved, but that is because of the radiator being deeper than factory. The wiring diagram can be found on the net by searching for putting a Viper fan in a Dakota. I would do this conversion again for sure. The dual speed is a nice feature. And it is all Mopar.

I wanted a dual but I have a single one used from I don't even know. Its i think a 15'' or so.Gonna have to tinker with It to see If i want it on the car.

Here's an idea though i was thinking of.Kind of abnormal (or maybe not,haven't seen it)but what If i mounted it inside my hood?(of course blowing down)That indent where the vents are?I'm making my vents actual vents with screen,so it will have some good air flow,but would there be any down falls to this?

i have both the flex fan and dual electric fans as pushers that are auxilliary controlled manually to cool my trans cooler radiator and fuel cooler. the fans are different sizes and staggered
