Re: stripes
People put all sorts of combinations of stripes and decals on their cars throughout the years.
In the 1980's you could still bUy original stripes for dealers stock.
So people put on what ever looked good to them.
Just because the stripes have been on there for a long time doesn't mean it left the factory that way.
Take this 1972 RR he put both strobe stripes and tank track stripes on his car.
It looks great but not the way the factory did them.

Re: stripes
A lot of guys customize their new cars within the first few months of ownership. Unless you can find original dealer/factory documentation or delivery photos at the dealership to show it came that way, I'd have to say the strobe stripe and front fender birds were added.

Re: stripes
Thank you for the insight. Looking at what Galen sent me on the build sheet it does say.
FE5 Body Paint: Ralley Red
FE5 Roof Paint: Ralley Red
No Stripe: Transverse Sport
Sound Right?

Re: stripes
If you'd like to send me a pic of your fender tag, I'd be happy to break down the codes and tell you what is correct for your car.

Re: stripes
Eric thank you for your help. I looked at the info Galen sent and he decoded the fender tag big deal. Explain how I can post a picture of my car on your site. Car will be done in 3 weeks. Never really looked at what Govier sent(9 month latter) until this restore began looks like this car came with many options not rare just a bunch. Will stay with the tank stripe along with the deck & hood stripes. Spoke with the second owner and he stated the tank stripes were on as early as 1977. Looking at galens build sheet he sent no doc. of tank stripe. No sweat, I will continue to ring this RR like I have for the last 19 years.
