bumper jack assembly resto

One of my off season resto items is going to be my bumper jack assembly. Can anyone direct me toward the paint that would be more or less "correct" in color for the jack hook and base? The hook is green and the base, grey.
One other item, my jacks mast is in pretty good shape. What would be the best way to clean it up a bit? It still has much of it's original finish, which I don't want to remove. The jack mechanism itself is a little beat, but wears the same grey as the base.
Thanks, and Happy, Healthy New Year to all!!

If you want to do it concours correct, it is not too hard. I removed the mechanism from the mast, sent the mast to a plater in OH (Eric Manuel @ 3404@oh.rr.com) who charges $25.00 to correctly replate in yellow zinc, then glass bead the mechanism and base, then spray it with the only truely correct shade of gray from Frank Badalson (http://www.rogergibsonautorestoration.com/). I still have to blast and paint my green hook (I will also use the JD green paint).
