manifold gaskets?

manifold gaskets?
ok, i tore the top of the motor off to check the cam for wear, its fine, just wanted check previous owner installed it, when they put it together they went gasket, valley pan, gasket, manifold. is that correct? i'm new to big blocks.

Factory cast intakes used just the valley pan, no fiber gaskets. I like to use the fiber gaskets with the valley pan for aluminum intakes, some say it's not needed. Just my preference.

i've never even seen the paper/fiber intake gaskets - i just use the valley pan with a little gasket sealer around the edges
