hood pin cabels

Post by Clone Runner » Wed Nov 04, 2009 10:58 pm

where do they bolt to? and does the cable go through the grill or above it and below the bumper? i'm gonna put the correct ones for the car on, it currently has some cheap chevy ones but at least they are in the correct location. Thanks.

In my experience the cables were intended to anchor at the holes shown below with a self tapping screw. Cables would route under the upper bumper and over the top. Cable length varies with some of the better correct looking Mopar hood pin sets, don’t remember the correct length for these cars. The kit I ended up with was short by a couple of inches, had to anchor to a grill mesh screw.

I bought my kit from the Chysler dealership and must say the quality of the pin base (the chrome plate that sits on the hood that the pin goes through) is absolutely shameful. Its basically a flat circle of tin foil only slightly thicker. The ones I already have in place are solid chromed metal plate thats a dome shape and has a plastic or rubber foot under it.

The clips and pins themselves are nice but I wonder if the original cable is different
