Glove Box Door Lock Removal?

Post by EaglesCall » Tue Jun 02, 2009 12:03 am

Another one that should be simple, but apparently isn't for me. How do you remove the lock from the glove box door? I'm trying to get a dash frame and peripherals ready to send out for blasting - this is the last piece. Thanks.

As I recall, insert the key into the cylinder to retract the tumblers then locate the access hole in the latch, insert something to release the cylinder from the latch.

I was afraid it was similar to an ignition switch removal. I'm going to have to start digging through boxes and see if I kept the trunk lock - I'm thinking this is also where a key might be .................. I hope !!!! Thanks for the information.

You were correct, you muust have the key. I did find one for it. You have to slide each of the keyed tumblers in line with the cylinder as you pull to get it apart (one at a time). Thanks for the help.
