383 intake ?

Post by CtownRunner » Sat Mar 14, 2009 5:09 pm

71RR with lumpy cam 383, headers. summit duals, reverse manual valve body 727, B&M shifter,
On top is new Edelbrock carb on a older Wieland single plan manifold. kinda air gap style.
The rear is 8 3/4 open 2.76 gears.

Lots of top end. Thinking of a used dual plane. Not for strip. street only.

Any good used intakes to consider?

I've seen a lot of people suggesting the old Edelbrock CH4B....i think that the Performer RPM is considered by most to be about the best intake available for a mostly street car, the MP dual plane looks similar in design to the RPM....that's what i'm narrowing my choices down to

The Eddy performer RPM would be he first pick, it is without question the best intake available for you application....actually I would consider this intake a keepsake.

In short I second what Landon1 wrote.

Yeah, I know New gears, lets say I'm goin to keep my eyes peeled for what ever deal shows up first and go from there. Parts may not appear on the car for a year. Just planning ahead one project at a time.
I can get an intake cheaper then the gears.

Thanks,

BTW if anyone has a Eddy Performer RPM for a 383 or 8 3/4 pumkin with 3.23 or 3.55 SureGrip Let me know.

Since I not planning anything on this end until next year my budget is on the Fire Sale side of things.
