I am putting headers on a 71 satellite wagon. it has a 383. The header on the driverside will not allow the stock column shift to work, I have tried to flip the linkage upside down, but that wont work. I would really like to keep the stock shifter. What are my options?

I did the same thing. I didn't care if I kept the column shifter so I threw in some buckets and a slap stick.

i don't know what you got for headers, but if you were shopping for new, you can see if it will fit colum shift, p.s., p.b., some 4speeds and even floor-shifts won't allow certain header designs, etc.
ie, these would fit column shift, but not powersteering

while these would fit almost any car, including column shift

i have hedmans, and they will fit any combination as well

i don't have my column shift anymore, but wish it still did, as buckets with column shift would be pretty cool...idk if you just got your headers, but maybe you could return them and get a different set that would fit

A friend of mine modified a rod to go over my header so I could use my colum shift with headers, that was way back in the 70's.But I am sure you can do it.
