My front bumper guard on my 71, has some cracks in the rubber. Is there a way to fix it and repaint?

Now I'm confused....you have a post asking what the 71 bumper guard looks like, and this one is asking how to repair yours?

Mine is not damaged that bad, just a few very small cracks in the rubber. I talked to the guys at the paint supply store, they told me that they had some rubber bumper repair stuff that would work, then spray it a satin black.
I also posted this on Moparts and a guy posted that was the M81 option, and only 55 Roadrunners and 14 GTX's had this option in 71.
Here is the piece I am talking about.

That is a rare piece!! I have seen a picture of one in a magazine, but never on a car! I wish I could remember the magazine.

Well, it's not that rare...I have the front guards on both of my cars. Personally, I don't like them that much, but since my cars came with them originally, I kept them. General put up a picture of my blue car in the other post. Here's another photo that might show it better.

Yeh, I 've got one on my front bumper also.

Not as rare as the moparts info I would think.

We could account for 1/2 of all production pieces on this board alone I bet. If those moparts # are accurate?

This stuff should work:SEM 39708,its a two part rubber.Just v out the cracks a little, mix the two part rubber, fill, and sand.Dont forget to use a flexible coating when you paint.
