Head codes 1972 ..340

Does anyone know the correct head codes for a 1972 340?....Can they be seen without taking the valve cover off?........I know my 1970 challenger 340 has a J next to the first spark plug hole, is there a code, #,or letter anywhere that can be seen without taking the valve covers off?

The valve covers have to be removed to see the casting numbers.
