Please look at this alleged Halloween interior

Please take a look at my current interior and let me know if this was ever offered as an option for a '73 Plymouth Road Runner. Normally I would just assume it's some Tijuana tuck job before I ripped it apart so it could be covered correctly; however, the owner stated someone told him it was a "Halloween interior" (which does not look like any Halloween interior I've seen). Pay particular attention to the extra cushion buns, buttons and piping. The actual black part is cloth. I removed the rear seat and found the broadcast sheet still intact, and also noticed the buttons were sewn all the way through to the back of the seat. Normally I would just assume this is some lame cover job, but the actual workmanship is pretty good with the white piping and buttons. A couple users over at Moparchat stated they've seen something as I described before, so that's why I'm very curious. As always, thanks for any and all input. I didn't have pictures at the time for the Moparchat crowd, but will go post some now.

not different, but i'd definitely say NOT stock...and if it was, i would change it anyway

i would say the white button fabric has been worn down on some of them, or even missing the button

Dang you guys are fast responders. What do you do, waste your Sunday on this forum? Oops, I just sold MYSELF out!

Well the buttons are actually vinyl and they're just missing on some of the interior; otherwise, it's matched.

Another thing, when reading the old post at Moparchat, fellow users only called it the Halloween interior based on the fact it was two tone, they didn't know of the extra heavy-duty seat bun thing, so I'm going to dismiss their accounts that it was a valid interior.

At least they didn't toss the buddy seat or two broadcast sheets (although the top broadcast sheet was to a black/black Road Runner, but the bottom one matched my car). Not that I'm particularly fond of the buddy seat, let's just say it has grown on me, and I can also say that my car seats SIX! Yeah!

lol nothin else to do on sunday...went to the zoo, took the satty for a spin...waitin for fireworks at 10:00 tonight

I removed the passenger bucket and noticed there is a weird Chrysler-tagged electrical plug attached underneath the seat. One end of it says "WIDE TAPE". There is also a metal bar running along the bottom of the seat. It wasn't plugged into anything. Any idea what this is? It's definitely factory as it has Chrysler tags and numbers on it. I'll take a photo soon.

yep there were a lot of fireworks around last week, but "summerfest" was this weekend - parties, carnival, etc. so ankeny saved fireworks til tonight instead of on the 4th

and i've been drinkin blue electric lemonades...YUMMY

anyway, the seats do look like factory seats, but someone added cadillac style buttoned cushions to them, so it may be a seat belt harness

Yes, I agree that the actual foam/frame of the buckets are factory. I pulled the Cadillac covers off and the bare foam matches up with the ones PG Classic sells on E-bay (can't wait till pay day!)

I think I want to do a Halloween interior in the form of a stock white seat, but dye either the side bolsters or the seating area black. I think that would look spiffy.

The "halloween" designation is generally used for orange cars with the black and orange interior.
The wiring you see is most likely part of the fasten seat belt warning system.

Spiffy? Spiffy? LOL. . . . . I like the idea of a two tone seat . ..the front bench I'm doing will be black with white inserts and the back seat will be white with black inserts. The door panels front and rear are white, but I'm gonna put in black kick panels. But, I wouldn't call it spiffy. . .Sporty maybe, Groovy if I wanna embarass my kids, but not spiffy. ..

I think it would be more spiffy to have color consistency with the front/rear seats, or it might look like amateur, but then it's sort of hard to envision and this is just my lowly opinion.

Heck, I can't envision if it's better to have black seats with white seating surfaces/headrest pad, or white seats with black seating surfaces/headrest pad. Sigh...
