I ordered a new carpet from Legendary and they never asked. I just assumed it would be an 80/20 nylon loop.....and they sent me a cut pile.

from what i've seen cut-pile started in 74...i'd rather do a one-piece cut pile than 2 piece, cuz i'm considering not having a console...and i don't get along with seams

Id imagine the loop would be much more uncomfortable and harder to clean.

On the contrary, it's much easier to clean. It is also correct for up to, at least, 1972. Cut pile carpet is disco era and, while softer, gets yucky lots faster. Last time I checked, I wasn't laying on the floor of my GTX watching TV, so I would much prefer the correct loop.

this is in ref. to barrybum's question. i went to my 71 sebring plus, and it had the small 2inch square mfg. labels..on the front piece going across under the footpedals it had this number..w/point pepperell(mfg)---1704 G
B-6 BLUE PLY LETTERS ARE KINDA MESSED UP THEN IT HAS THE DATE 3-29-71
on the other piece that runs across and under the seats, it has w/point pepperell 1736 g b6-blue ply b/s w/ctr a rest front 3/17/71
hope this helps, i just thought it was kinda neat finding the original carpet, and it is loop style.
i just wonder is west point pepperell still in business??

It's funny how much has changed in our cars before we got them. I'm finding more and more "changes" the deeper I get into my project.
