Numbers are cast into the transmission mating surface. I believe the correct number should be 2892513.

With the transmission in place you won’t be able to see the number. If the bell housing is original to your car it should be the aluminum “513” version. There were older cast iron big block housings used for the 130 tooth (10 ½” clutch) and 143 tooth (11” clutch) flywheels. Each had a slightly different sized inspection cover. By 1970 all big blocks used the same aluminum “513” housing. Year One sells a steel reproduction inspection cover under the number BHC105. I have seen plastic reproductions available too, however not recommended.

What’s it made of? Cast iron or aluminum? If it’s aluminum then it’s a “513”. If it’s cast iron then only way to know for sure would be to look at the casting number.
